A: We use DPD to deliver your orders. They are one of the most reliable courier companies in the UK. We currently experience a 99.4% delivery success rate with them, in spite of the very considerable strains all UK courier companies are under with the unprecedented increase in demand.
DPD are currently adopting the ‘No Contact Delivery Practice’. This is for the safety of both you and the driver. The delivery driver will not ask you to sign the Delivery Handheld Device. Instead, the driver will knock the door/ring the doorbell, place the consignment on the doorstep, step back from the door 2 metres and ask for you to confirm your name. The driver will then take a photograph of your parcel in your doorway (you do not need to be in the photo)
If you are not available to take your order you simply need to leave a signed note on your door to tell the driver where to leave your parcel. All courier companies are under extreme pressure during the Covid-19 lockdown and do not have the time to re-deliver. They are your lifeline and our lifeline too and we would ask for patience and tolerance while they undertake this critical task under extreme circumstances
Our Beef: All of our beef is from our herd of Highland Cattle right here on the farm. After a happy life grazing on grass, supplemented with our own haylage and brewers mash during winter, we process them at between 29-34 months and they are then hung for 30 days before being expertly butchered into the best cuts you’ll find here.
Our Pork: Our pigs are a cross between Oxford Sandy Black and Saddle back, which we find provides a really good fat to meat ratio. We have them living in our woodland area, so they graze down the forest foliage and along with pig nuts, they get treats in the form of bits and pieces from the market garden.
Our Lamb: Our Texel/Lleyn cross lamb is bred here on the farm and fed on a diet of grass, supplemented with haylage and ewe nuts during lambing to help with milk production. We take them off between 10-12 months old and they are dry-aged for 7 days before being expertly prepared to return the best possible yield and flavour.
